Bio-Oil

I wanted my first post to be something simple and an introduction to my blog. I chose to write a haiku to reflect the tone of my blog. As for my first review, it was a more difficult choice as there are so many beauty, skincare, and fashion topics to blog about. After much consideration I decided it should be something that I use every day and easily available. So here goes my first review!

I use this every night from my face down to my feet. According to the company this product can be used for:

Scars

Stretch marks

Uneven skin tone

Aging skin

Dehydrated skin

and of course as a daily skincare routine।

I have pretty much used this product for everything and find that it does live up to some of the claims while others not so much.

In regards to healing scars it is better than just letting nature take it’s course. However it takes much longer than plain old Neosporin. I find that Mederma works much better. For stretch marks it is the same story. Where this product really shines is a pick me up to uneven skintone! It really helps my dull skin look luminous and smooth! Hopefully it will help with aging skin in the long run. As of now I’m still young so only time will tell. My skin tends to be on the oily side so I have yet to use it for dehydrated skin.

Pros: Makes skin even and silky. Also it doesn't sting the delicate eye area so it can be a great alternative for those who have sensitivity to eye creams. I find that it does a fairly decent job of plumping up the under eye area after a long day of makeup. Not only that I can use it on my neck and rest of the body.

Cons: I hate the bottle, it drives me insane! It’s difficult to get just the right amount. It is a squeeze type. It wouldn’t be so bad, but the opening is really small so you have to touch it to get the liquid to come out. If you squeeze it even with moderate pressure, it just comes pouring out. Not too effective or sanitary. I also dislike that it dries up really fast. So if I use a cotton pad it soaks it up completely. I hate to waste product!

Other concerns: I have read that some people felt this was very oily and could not use this on their face. I myself have very oily skin naturally and have not found any problems with the texture, however if you find the feeling of light baby oil uncomfortable this may not be the product for you.

Recently I actually found a solution to my bottle problem by transferring the oil into a mister/spray bottle that can actually mist my skin! This way I get even coverage without worrying if I missed a spot.

The bottle comes in a 60ml/2 fl oz size and a 125ml/4।2fl oz size. I originally bought the 4.2 oz size as I was unsure if I liked it. However I liked it so much I immediately ran out to get the larger size.
